# Medieval vs NumTrail

Medieval and NumTrail both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 84% of Medieval's written reviews are positive against 50% of NumTrail's. Medieval also leads on ratings volume (470 vs 6) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Medieval sells 12 one-off in-app purchases and NumTrail sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Medieval against 4.7 for NumTrail. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Medieval has 470 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 84% of Medieval's written reviews are positive against 50% of NumTrail's.

Medieval ships an update every 3 weeks, NumTrail every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
