# StepBuddy vs vsteps

The clearest difference is update cadence: vsteps at every 3 weeks against StepBuddy's every 2 months. StepBuddy's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StepBuddy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and vsteps sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepBuddy ships an update every 2 months, vsteps every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
