# StepBuddy vs RunLive

The clearest difference is update cadence: RunLive at fortnightly against StepBuddy's every 2 months. StepBuddy's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StepBuddy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and RunLive sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepBuddy ships an update every 2 months, RunLive fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
