# Promise vs ThenCommit

The clearest difference is rating: ThenCommit at 5.0 against Promise's 4.6. ThenCommit also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 86%). Promise's advantage is ratings volume (11 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Promise sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and ThenCommit sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $5.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ThenCommit holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Promise has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of Promise's written reviews are positive against 100% of ThenCommit's.

Promise ships an update fortnightly, ThenCommit every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
