The clearest difference is price: Tricky Mean2 at Free against Mandarin Challenge's $0.49. Tricky Mean2 also leads on ratings volume (9.7K vs 35) and rating (4.6 vs 4.4). Tricky Mean2 is free to download; Mandarin Challenge costs $0.49 up front. Mandarin Challenge sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Tricky Mean2 sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tricky Mean2 holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tricky Mean2 has 9.7K ratings behind it against 35, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Mandarin Challenge's written reviews are positive against 23% of Tricky Mean2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
