# Whisper Notes vs Dictly

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Whisper Notes at 82% against Dictly's 20%. Whisper Notes also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.5) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whisper Notes sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Dictly sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Whisper Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Whisper Notes has 50 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 82% of Whisper Notes's written reviews are positive against 20% of Dictly's.

Whisper Notes ships an update every 6 days, Dictly every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
