# Whisper Notes vs AfterShift

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Whisper Notes at 50 against AfterShift's 2. AfterShift's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whisper Notes sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and AfterShift sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AfterShift holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Whisper Notes has 50 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Whisper Notes ships an update every 6 days, AfterShift every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
