# Hz vs Digital Light

The clearest difference is ads: Hz at none against Digital Light's shown. Hz also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Digital Light's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hz sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Digital Light sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hz ships an update fortnightly, Digital Light every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
