# Aelano vs Kay English Learning

The clearest difference is monetization model: Kay English Learning at free against Aelano's free with in-app purchases. Kay English Learning also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 84%). Aelano's advantage is ratings volume (12 vs 2). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aelano sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Kay English Learning sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Aelano holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aelano has 12 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Aelano's written reviews are positive against 100% of Kay English Learning's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Aelano ships an update weekly, Kay English Learning every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
