# Notaforte vs Saxophone Master

The clearest difference is ads: Notaforte at none against Saxophone Master's shown. Notaforte also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 18 months) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). Saxophone Master's advantage is iOS requirement (15 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notaforte sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per 3 months and Saxophone Master sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notaforte holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notaforte has 514 ratings behind it against 80, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Notaforte's written reviews are positive against 90% of Saxophone Master's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notaforte ships an update every 3 weeks, Saxophone Master every 18 months. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
