# NotesXP vs PocketAce

The clearest difference is ads: NotesXP at none against PocketAce's shown. NotesXP also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (53 vs 8). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NotesXP sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and PocketAce sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for NotesXP against 4.8 for PocketAce. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NotesXP has 53 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of NotesXP's written reviews are positive against 80% of PocketAce's.

NotesXP ships an update every 11 days, PocketAce every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
