# Proton Authenticator vs Inventry

Proton Authenticator and Inventry both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 56% of Proton Authenticator's written reviews are positive against 0% of Inventry's. Proton Authenticator also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Inventry sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Proton Authenticator asks for nothing beyond the download.

Inventry holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Authenticator has 242 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Proton Authenticator's written reviews are positive against 0% of Inventry's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Proton Authenticator ships an update weekly, Inventry every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
