# Random Filter vs This Or That

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: This Or That at none against Random Filter's 12. This Or That also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.2). Random Filter's advantage is review sentiment (49% vs 32%) and ratings volume (4.5K vs 701). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Random Filter sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.59 per 7 days. This Or That asks for nothing beyond the download.

This Or That holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Random Filter has 4.5K ratings behind it against 701, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Random Filter's written reviews are positive against 32% of This Or That's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Random Filter ships an update fortnightly, This Or That every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
