# LitNotes vs TourStack

The clearest difference is ads: TourStack at none against LitNotes's shown. TourStack also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). LitNotes's advantage is ratings volume (24 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LitNotes sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and TourStack sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TourStack holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LitNotes has 24 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 93% of LitNotes's written reviews are positive against 100% of TourStack's.

LitNotes ships an update every 2 weeks, TourStack every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
