# NextDNS Remote vs sim2link

The clearest difference is update cadence: NextDNS Remote at fortnightly against sim2link's every 3 months. sim2link's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NextDNS Remote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and sim2link sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NextDNS Remote ships an update fortnightly, sim2link every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
