# Simple Notes vs CryoStats

The clearest difference is ads: CryoStats at none against Simple Notes's shown. CryoStats also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 8 days). Simple Notes's advantage is ratings volume (231 vs 2). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.39 per month and CryoStats sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CryoStats holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Notes has 231 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Simple Notes ships an update every 8 days, CryoStats every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
