# HLRBO vs ShedGuide

The clearest difference is monetization model: HLRBO at free against ShedGuide's free with in-app purchases. HLRBO also leads on ratings volume (56 vs 2) and chart position (#97 vs unranked). ShedGuide's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HLRBO sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $149.00 per year and ShedGuide sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 2.9 for HLRBO against 3.0 for ShedGuide. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HLRBO has 56 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HLRBO ships an update fortnightly, ShedGuide weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
