The app uses flashcard exercises that ask you to find the correct grammatical form. For verbs, you are shown a verb and asked to conjugate it for a given tense, person, and number. For nouns, you are asked to decline a word in a specific case, gender, and number. You think or say the answer yourself, then tap to check it, along with the word’s translation. The app follows a spaced repetition approach: after each review, you mark items as easy or difficult, and they are shown again later depending on how well they are remembered. Pāli Practice works fully offline and is designed for brief, regular study, so it can be used whenever you have a free moment. The app is intended for Theravada Buddhism practitioners and students of early Buddhist texts who want a simple tool for practicing grammatical forms. It supports ongoing study but does not replace textbooks, courses, or teachers. Word and grammar data are sourced from the Digital Pāli Dictionary project. The icon is the quail from SN 47:6, the Sakuṇagghi Sutta ("The Hawk"), hiding behind rocks in its ancestral territory – a newly plowed field with clumps of earth all turned up: "Wander, monks, in what is your proper range, your own ancestral territory. In one who wanders in what is his proper range, his own ancestral territory, Māra gains no opening, Māra gains no foothold. And what, for a monk, is his proper range, his own ancestral territory? The four establishings of mindfulness." This app is maintained by the DhammaBytes contributors. We welcome feedback and help with translating the app into other languages. Learn Thai words you will actually use, and keep them. Wat Kham is a Thai vocabulary flashcard app built on spaced repetition. Each new word shows its meaning, script and pronunciation first. The app then quizzes you at the right moments, so the word moves into long-term memory. FSRS-6 scheduling decides when you see it again. START WITH THE ALPHABET AND YOUR FIRST 100 WORDS The free Thai Alphabet deck covers all 44 consonants with their class and sounds, plus vowels and tone marks. Core Thai 1–100 gives you the most useful everyday words in order, and Numbers covers prices, times and counting. A LIBRARY THAT GROWS WITH YOU Explore 91 vocabulary decks and 3,669 Thai-English cards: food, travel, transport, work, health, visas, conversation and grammar. A word that appears in several decks shares one review schedule, so you never study it twice. HEAR EVERY WORD Romanization with tone marks sits under the Thai script, and every answer is spoken aloud. Replay it whenever you like. Turn on listening mode to hear a word before you see it and recall its meaning by ear. STUDY IN EITHER DIRECTION Learn Thai from English, or practise English from Thai. Switch direction in Settings. SEE YOUR PROGRESS Choose how many new words to learn each day, keep a daily streak, and see on the dashboard which words are strong and which need practice. Search any word by Thai, English or sound to hear it and see how well you know it. Reminders keep you on schedule, and one tap undoes a mistaken answer. A CARD THAT FEELS REAL Ivory paper cards, jade covers and gold temple ornament, with tactile flips and swipe grading. Your progress is backed up to your private iCloud account, so a new iPhone picks up where you left off. Start free with the Thai Alphabet, Core Thai 1–100 and Numbers. Unlock the full library with a one-time purchase. No subscription.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pāli Practice at none against Wat Kham's 1. Pāli Practice also leads on ads (none vs shown) and device support (3 vs 1). Wat Kham's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). On price there is nothing between them.
