# Black Screen Video Camera vs BlackOut

The clearest difference is rating: Black Screen Video Camera at 3.7 against BlackOut's 3.0. Black Screen Video Camera also leads on ratings volume (35 vs 2). BlackOut's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 33%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Black Screen Video Camera sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and BlackOut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Black Screen Video Camera holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Black Screen Video Camera has 35 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Black Screen Video Camera's written reviews are positive against 50% of BlackOut's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
