# Darkroom Toolkit vs FilmDev

The clearest difference is ads: Darkroom Toolkit at none against FilmDev's shown. FilmDev's advantage is device support (4 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Darkroom Toolkit sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and FilmDev sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Darkroom Toolkit ships an update fortnightly, FilmDev monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
