# FoxNote vs Daily Captain

The clearest difference is rating: Daily Captain at 5.0 against FoxNote's 4.5. Daily Captain also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). FoxNote's advantage is ratings volume (344 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FoxNote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Daily Captain sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Daily Captain holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FoxNote has 344 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FoxNote ships an update fortnightly, Daily Captain every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
