# i9VPN vs iDefNet VPN

The clearest difference is rating: i9VPN at 4.8 against iDefNet VPN's 4.3. i9VPN also leads on ratings volume (191 vs 29). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. i9VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and iDefNet VPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

i9VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: i9VPN has 191 ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
