# Chournal vs SnapNote

The clearest difference is ads: SnapNote at none against Chournal's shown. SnapNote also leads on review sentiment (96% vs 83%) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chournal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SnapNote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Chournal against 5.0 for SnapNote. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SnapNote has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of Chournal's written reviews are positive against 96% of SnapNote's.

Chournal ships an update every 8 days, SnapNote every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
