# Read Fluently vs 4Speak

The clearest difference is rating: 4Speak at 5.0 against Read Fluently's 4.0. 4Speak also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 9 days). Read Fluently's advantage is ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Read Fluently sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and 4Speak sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

4Speak holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Read Fluently has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Read Fluently ships an update every 9 days, 4Speak every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
