# BookMiles vs Ex

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Ex at 100% against BookMiles's 71%. Ex also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). BookMiles's advantage is ratings volume (15 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BookMiles sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Ex sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BookMiles has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 71% of BookMiles's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ex's.

BookMiles ships an update every 10 days, Ex every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
