# Trace Drawing Projector vs Trace Camera

The clearest difference is rating: Trace Camera at 4.8 against Trace Drawing Projector's 3.9. Trace Camera also leads on ratings volume (210 vs 27) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). Trace Drawing Projector's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trace Drawing Projector sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Trace Camera sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Trace Camera holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trace Camera has 210 ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Trace Drawing Projector's written reviews are positive against 95% of Trace Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trace Drawing Projector ships an update weekly, Trace Camera every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
