# DubCam vs Hoop Journal

The clearest difference is monetization model: Hoop Journal at free against DubCam's free with in-app purchases. Hoop Journal also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.6). DubCam's advantage is ratings volume (19 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DubCam sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Hoop Journal sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for DubCam against 5.0 for Hoop Journal. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DubCam has 19 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
