# 2nd Phone Number vs Authenticator

The clearest difference is monetization model: Authenticator at free with in-app purchases against 2nd Phone Number's subscription. Authenticator also leads on iOS requirement (16 vs 18.6). 2nd Phone Number's advantage is ratings volume (419 vs 8). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.
