# Foxtale vs Melt Focus

The clearest difference is monetization model: Foxtale at free with in-app purchases against Melt Focus's subscription. Foxtale also leads on ratings volume (2.7K vs 15) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.0). Melt Focus's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Foxtale sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Melt Focus sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Foxtale against 4.9 for Melt Focus. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Foxtale has 2.7K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 97% of Foxtale's written reviews are positive against 100% of Melt Focus's.

Foxtale ships an update weekly, Melt Focus fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
