Looking for the best online party games to raise up your hangouts? Meet Impostor – Spy Party Game — the social deduction phenomenon where you guess who the spy is, identify the imposter, and laugh until it hurts. Inspired by classics like Spyfall, Undercover, Mafia, and Werewolf, this is the ultimate spy game for 3–12 players. Whether you're with friends, a house party, a dinner, or a road trip — Impostor turns any moment into a thrilling hunt together. As a solo developer, I built the perfect group competition you can play anywhere with friends — no extra materials, no complicated setup. Just real conversations, bluffing, and laughter. One of you is secretly the Impostor... can you find out who before it's too late or blend in and stay hidden? HOW IT WORKS One player creates a room and shares a 6-character invite code. Everyone joins online, then the game secretly assigns the imposter. Civilians try to identify the impostor through clever questions and discussion. Each round ends with a vote — and every decision matters. TWO UNIQUE GAME MODES WORD MODE — Guess the Word All players see the same secret word. The impostor sees only a vague hint — or nothing at all. Players take turns giving associations without naming it directly. After 3 phases, the group votes: who sounds unsure? Who's overexplaining? A classic guessing game full of bluffing and misdirection. QUESTION MODE — Guess Who Got a Different Question Everyone receives the same question. The imposter secretly gets a completely different one. The host reads it aloud, players answer and try to blend in. After all answers, it's time to debate and vote. Will your poker face save you? Pure improvisation and spy game tension. SCORING Impostor wins the round → 2 points for the imposter Civilians identify the impostor → 1 point each A running scoreboard is shown after every round — perfect for competitive friend games and long game nights. Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Impostor at none against Imposter Elite™'s shown. Impostor also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and rating (4.8 vs 4.4). Imposter Elite™'s advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 87%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Imposter Elite™ sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Impostor sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Impostor holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 17 and 12 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Imposter Elite™'s written reviews are positive against 87% of Impostor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Imposter Elite™ ships an update every 3 weeks, Impostor every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
