# Speedometer vs Velocity Pro

The clearest difference is ads: Velocity Pro at none against Speedometer's shown. Speedometer's advantage is iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Velocity Pro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 14, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
