# Lightning Sync vs Timer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Timer at 100% against Lightning Sync's 33%. Timer also leads on rating (4.0 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (4 vs 1). Lightning Sync's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 months) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lightning Sync sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 3 months and Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 4 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of Lightning Sync's written reviews are positive against 100% of Timer's.
