# Illuminator vs Glimmex

The clearest difference is update cadence: Glimmex at weekly against Illuminator's every 2 months. Glimmex also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Illuminator sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Glimmex sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Illuminator ships an update every 2 months, Glimmex weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
