# Notes+ vs CogniPen

The clearest difference is update cadence: CogniPen at every 2 months against Notes+'s every 8 months. CogniPen also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes+ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and CogniPen sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notes+ ships an update every 8 months, CogniPen every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
