# The Cross App vs Forerunners

The clearest difference is update cadence: The Cross App at every 2 weeks against Forerunners's every 5 months. Forerunners's advantage is ratings volume (315 vs 6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for The Cross App against 5.0 for Forerunners. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forerunners has 315 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

The Cross App ships an update every 2 weeks, Forerunners every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
