# VPN vs VPN MAX Pro

The clearest difference is monetization model: VPN MAX Pro at free with in-app purchases against VPN's subscription. VPN's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and VPN MAX Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 3 respectively.

VPN ships an update every 2 weeks, VPN MAX Pro every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
