# VPN vs Fast VPN

The clearest difference is monetization model: Fast VPN at free with in-app purchases against VPN's subscription. Fast VPN also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). VPN's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (12 vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and Fast VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 4 respectively.

VPN ships an update every 2 weeks, Fast VPN weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
