# Daily Discipline vs alara

Daily Discipline and alara both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of alara's written reviews are positive against 39% of Daily Discipline's. alara also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Daily Discipline's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 83) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Daily Discipline sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and alara sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Daily Discipline against 4.9 for alara. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Daily Discipline has 1.1K ratings behind it against 83, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 39% of Daily Discipline's written reviews are positive against 100% of alara's.

Daily Discipline ships an update every 2 weeks, alara fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
