# Mist vs Meal Tracker

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Mist at 575 against Meal Tracker's 7. Mist also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs weekly) and iOS requirement (16.6 vs 26.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mist sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Meal Tracker sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mist holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mist has 575 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 83% and 83% positive.

Mist ships an update every 2 days, Meal Tracker weekly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
