# OpenCloud vs Zima Client

The clearest difference is rating: Zima Client at 4.8 against OpenCloud's 4.3. Zima Client also leads on ratings volume (237 vs 22). OpenCloud's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 59%) and iOS requirement (15.4 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Zima Client holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zima Client has 237 ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of OpenCloud's written reviews are positive against 59% of Zima Client's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OpenCloud ships an update every 3 weeks, Zima Client every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
