# Secure vs Platebuds

The clearest difference is rating: Platebuds at 5.0 against Secure's 4.2. Platebuds also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). Secure's advantage is ratings volume (24 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Platebuds holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure has 24 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Secure ships an update every 3 weeks, Platebuds every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
