# Dog Translator* vs Bro

The clearest difference is rating: Dog Translator* at 4.6 against Bro's 3.7. Dog Translator* also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and device support (3 vs 1). Bro's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs monthly). On price, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dog Translator* sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Bro sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dog Translator* holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.3K and 1.1K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 8% of Dog Translator*'s written reviews are positive against 37% of Bro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dog Translator* ships an update monthly, Bro every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 17, 2026.
