# EMB Tools vs VPN

EMB Tools and VPN both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 95% of EMB Tools's written reviews are positive against 59% of VPN's. EMB Tools also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ads (none vs shown). VPN's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 19). On price, rating, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. EMB Tools asks for nothing beyond the download.

EMB Tools holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 1.1K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 95% of EMB Tools's written reviews are positive against 59% of VPN's.

EMB Tools ships an update fortnightly, VPN every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
