# Beardly vs Maxims

The clearest difference is rating: Maxims at 5.0 against Beardly's 3.8. Maxims also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 months). Beardly's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Beardly sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Maxims sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Maxims holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Beardly has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Beardly ships an update every 4 months, Maxims every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
