# MyScript Math vs MathNotes

The clearest difference is rating: MathNotes at 5.0 against MyScript Math's 4.5. MathNotes also leads on device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). MyScript Math's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (75 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyScript Math sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and MathNotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MathNotes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyScript Math has 75 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MyScript Math ships an update every 11 days, MathNotes every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
