# Astro VPN vs OpenSig

The clearest difference is ads: OpenSig at none against Astro VPN's shown. Astro VPN's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Astro VPN sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and OpenSig sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Astro VPN ships an update weekly, OpenSig every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
