# TypeIt vs HippoCam

The clearest difference is update cadence: TypeIt at every 3 days against HippoCam's every 3 weeks. TypeIt also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TypeIt sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and HippoCam sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TypeIt ships an update every 3 days, HippoCam every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 17, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
