# SL OCTAPAD vs Harmonium

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SL OCTAPAD at 100% against Harmonium's 50%. SL OCTAPAD also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). Harmonium's advantage is rating (4.1 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Harmonium sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per year. SL OCTAPAD asks for nothing beyond the download.

Harmonium holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Harmonium has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of SL OCTAPAD's written reviews are positive against 50% of Harmonium's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SL OCTAPAD ships an update fortnightly, Harmonium every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
