# Stupid Notes vs Boring Widget

The clearest difference is update cadence: Boring Widget at every 2 days against Stupid Notes's every 4 days. Boring Widget also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stupid Notes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $6.99 per year and Boring Widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Stupid Notes ships an update every 4 days, Boring Widget every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
