# WAVE vs SignalMap WiFi

The clearest difference is ads: SignalMap WiFi at none against WAVE's shown. WAVE's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WAVE sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per month and SignalMap WiFi sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WAVE ships an update every 3 days, SignalMap WiFi every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
